Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ampaly ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Ampaly mobile application ("App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge the practices described below.

1. Local-First Budgeting Data

Ampaly is designed so that your budgeting data stays on your device.

The App stores your budgeting and forecasting content locally, including:

• financial accounts, balances, names, and emojis,
• one-time and recurring transaction contracts,
• generated operations, settlement states, rescheduled dates, notes, and overrides,
• settings such as language, appearance, theme, currency, and first day of week,
• your locally stored subscription entitlement state used by the App to unlock paid features.

We do not run a remote budget database for this content, and we do not require you to create an Ampaly account to use the App.

2. Limited Technical Data We May Receive

Although your budgeting content remains local, the current App does use third-party technical services in non-development builds.

In staging and production builds, the App may send limited technical and usage data to Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, including:

• screen views and basic app lifecycle events,
• performance timings and coarse aggregate counts used to understand app behavior, such as number of accounts, number of transaction contracts, or dashboard month counts,
• technical diagnostics, crash traces, error tags, app environment, and similar debugging metadata.

We do not intentionally send your transaction names, descriptions, balances, amounts, notes, or exported backup contents through these Firebase services.

Firebase and Google may also process device and app metadata needed to provide analytics and crash reporting. You can learn more at Firebase Privacy and Security and Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Do Not Collect for an Ampaly Account

We do not require account registration, and we do not ask you to provide your name, password, or profile information to use the App.

We do not use your budgeting content for advertising, and we do not integrate advertising SDKs or third-party trackers for ad targeting.

4. Subscriptions and App Marketplace Data

Ampaly offers an optional paid subscription called Ampaly Be. Purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by the app marketplace on your device, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, if available for your platform.

We do not receive your full payment card details. The App may receive or infer limited store-related information needed to unlock your subscription, such as product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal state, and expiry dates.

Your app marketplace provider may process additional personal data under its own terms and privacy policy.

5. Exports, Imports, and Files You Choose

The App lets you export your data into a .ampaly backup file and import compatible backup files later.

• Exports are created locally from the data on your device.
• Backup files are plain-text JSON packaged with the .ampaly extension.
• Imports are file-based only: the App opens your system document picker and reads the file you select.
• You are responsible for the security and sharing of any exported backup files.

6. No Current Cloud Sync for Budgeting Data

The current version of the App does not provide operational iCloud sync or another Ampaly-managed cloud sync service for your budgeting data.

7. Contact Communications

If you email us for support or legal questions, we will process the information you include in that message so we can respond and keep a support history when reasonably necessary.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Because most App data is local-first:

• you can delete your budgeting data from within the App,
• uninstalling the App removes the App's local storage from your device, subject to your device or platform behavior,
• exported backup files remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete them,
• technical analytics and crash data processed through Firebase may be retained according to our Firebase configuration and applicable law.

9. Security

Your local data is protected primarily by your device's own security controls, such as passcodes, biometric locks, and device encryption. We recommend keeping your operating system up to date and protecting access to exported backup files.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please note that since no data is transmitted to us, no action on our end is required. Parental controls are available at the device level.

11. Your Rights

For the budgeting data stored locally on your device, you remain the primary controller because that data stays with you unless you export or share it.

For the limited technical data we or our service providers process, you may contact us to request information or exercise any privacy rights available under applicable law. If your request concerns your app marketplace account, Firebase, or Google services, you may also need to contact the relevant provider directly.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or an update to the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
